Jen is making the trip in memory of her
Grandad, Jim
Jen McKie, 20, will cycle 621 miles in 10 days on the Bike the Baltic challenge for the Evening Times-backed Marie Curie Big Build appeal.
She is aiming to raise £5000 towards the £16million needed for the new facility.
The existing hospice at Stobhill Hospital cared for her grandad, Jim Thomas, who died there four years ago, aged 84.
Jen, a sociology and psychology student at the University of the West of Scotland, said: "They made him really comfortable and since then I've wanted to help them out."
Jen will cycle from Riga in Latvia, through Estonia to St Petersburg, in Russia, staying in accommodation ranging from youth hostels to a castle.
She said: "I think I'll be OK as I'm quite fit, but I'm worried about how sore my bum is going to be."
The Bishopbriggs girl is following a family tradition of taking adventurous trips. Last year her parents went to Everest base camp, they've climbed Kilimanjaro and this year also went to Machu Picchu in Peru.
Jen's now raising sponsorship money for the trip in August as well as getting into training.
