Glasgow an ideal home for new hospice
The Marie Curie Cancer Care Big Build Appeal is to be the charity partner of the 2007 Ideal Home Show Scotland which takes place in Glasgow from October 12–21.
The Big Build is the charity partner of the
event
The appeal will have a stand at the show, and representatives of the charity will be raising money throughout the event, with an auction and raffle of interior design-based prizes planned.
The Big Build campaign aims to raise £16 million to replace the current Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow with a state of the art purpose-built facility. Although the current building has provided care to over 30,000 families, it is now nearing the end of its useful life.
The new hospice will aim to provide a caring and friendly environment, acting as a home from home for the patients who require its services.
Big Build Fundraiser Gemma McDonald said:
“Hospice care is so important to people throughout their illness, but sadly in the West Coast of Scotland we do not have the best facilities for this. The new hospice is so desperately needed.
“Working with the Ideal Home Show will allow us to promote our home from home philosophy whilst raising money for this vital project. I would like to thank the Ideal Home Show for this fantastic opportunity.”
