The pop star from Bishopbriggs was on site to witness work begin on the new £16million Marie Curie hospice at Stobhill Hospital.
She then visited the current hospice to chat to patients and staff, pose for pictures and sign autographs.
The Big Build appeal, backed by the Evening Times, was launched this time last year, to raise the money to build a new state-of-the-art hospice for Glasgow.
The current hospice, which is over 30 years old, desperately needs replaced and a new building will offer some of the best hospice care in Europe.
Amy, who flew in from London where she played a charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall the previous evening, was happy to lend her support to the appeal. She said: "I've heard a lot about the Big Build and wanted to help.
"My sister Katy is training to become a doctor and when she was still at school she used to volunteer every Sunday morning at the hospice.
"So, I thought it was my turn to do my bit."
Amy also signed an Evening Times Big Build T-shirt which will be auctioned off later this year.
And she added: "This is a brilliant place and a fantastic appeal."
